Barry teaches watercolor and oil painting techniques. He says:
Of course our class will center on the usual, with Composition, Values and Color usage being dominate.... purpose being, to create "art" not just a copy of a photo but also with a little excursion into just where watercolor excels and the dirty little secret that very few water-colorists ever talk about and that is when doing a painting in watercolor is going to make you "work really, really hard" ......in other words, you're probably not going to have a "happy" day at the easel, but you will have a rewarding one. We will take that on along with a quick color test of students' pigments (as well as mine) and any other issues the students may bring up. We will have fun as usual!!
Students should bring at least three photo references or sketches of their choosing. Their own favorite watercolor supplies including a box of pop up Kleenex. Working surface should be at least 140lb watercolor paper....nothing less. Subject of the class will be my usual "emphasis on composition and values use with individual instruction for each student."
