Brian teaches figure painting with pastels.
(Register for 2/26 and 2/27 sessions separately.)
The class will cover pastel approaches to render the figure. Artistic anatomy will be of great importance, as well as different techniques applied to create stronger paintings. The instructor has an MFA from "The Rochester Institute of Technology", in medical illustration, and has been accepted into "National Juried Pastel Exhibitions" throughout the country.
Materials List:
-Black charcoal pencils, the participant may also choose pastels pencils too.
-Pastels that the participant favors. An assortment hard and soft is recommended. I will be using "nupastels" and "Rembrandt" pastels.
-"Canson" paper, preferably "medium grey" in color. Six to seven sheets are recommended.
-16"x20" foam core boards to be used as backing. Seven are recommended.
-3/4" masking tape.
-One can of odorless hair spray.
-Pack of odorless "wet wipes".
