At least 5 Photo references to be used as a basis for portrait paintings. No Xerox printouts or blurry printer copies. Please only use an iPad, computer or, (only if you have to) a phone to paint from. Head shots should not be taken with a flash. Natural lighting is best and be sure that you can see the crease above the lash line -above a persons eyes. If not, the reference does not have enough info to paint from. Be sure the portrait references have clear highlights as well as some shadow on the face.
Remember- bad references = bad paintings.
